My dad's name is Michael L Wilson Sr., He was taken away from us on May 20, 2008. They ruled his death as Oxycodone and Fluoxetine(prozac) intoxication. Basically an accidental overdose due to the combination of the two drugs. He had a major spinal surgery in Jan of 2007. Before that he was a happy healthy man. The day before he died he found out he was going to have to have another back surgery. Thats when his primary doctor prescribed him the Oxy. Mind you he gave him oxycodone AND oxycontin. obviously the same medication just ones generic. Anyway. The doctor screwed up. He should have known not to give my dad the oxy when he was on the prozac. I didnt have to go to med school to go online and look up on about 7 different websites that said its not the brightest idea to prescribe those two medications together. My dad was 39 years old when he died! he had soooo much of a life ahead of him. And now because of some stupid doctor he is gone. I hate that man more than anything. But he will get his. The lawsuit is already rolling and thus far hes lost his license to even prescribe narcotics. It may not bring my dad back but at the very least it may save a life. My whole mission at the moment is to get the word out.
